Christopher Brown is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-3 275 lb. frame from Skokie, IL who attends Evanston Twp. Extra-large, extremely strong build with excellent strength throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.00 seconds. Primary pitcher, shows long extended arm circle through the back with deep hook to create leverage, accelerates cleanly to high three quarters arm slot with good arm speed and powers downhill. Fastball worked 83-87 MPH with heavy arm side life. Showed good curveball with 12/6 shape and good spin, will be bigger weapon as he continues to develop feel for finishing the pitch out front. Excellent feel for the changeup, replicates arm speed well and adds fading action, very good out pitch at present. Sets up to hit from open, narrow-based stance with toe-tap trigger. Inside hand path with short, quick swing, highlighted by extreme strength at point of contact. Will go to opposite field and has ability to drive the baseball deep. Named to 2016 Great Lakes Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
