Cesare DeLuca is a 2017 LHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Hamilton HS. Medium, athletic frame with beginnings of good physicality at present; body projects well moving forward. Primary left-handed pitcher, very deceptive delivery on the mound with the ability to hide the ball well from the hitters. Stabs arm action through the back and crosses axis of body, generates good extension towards the plate and creates angle from three quarters arm slot. Fastball worked 76-78 MPH with good life to the arm side, did a good job keeping the fastball down in the zone and commanding it to both sides of the plate. Absolutely dominated opposing hitters with his changeup, a weapon pitch with outstanding action, command, and deception out of hand. Also showed quality breaking ball, with the ability to throw it as a true curveball in low 60's and tighten it up into more of a slider look in the upper 60's. Understands sequencing and the benefits of changing speeds; really knows how to pitch. Named to 2016 West Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
