Sean Roberts is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Lake Hopatcong, NJ who attends Pope John XXIII HS. Large, athletic build with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill. Ran a 5.79 40-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch and throws from a three-quarter arm slot with an easy and quick arm action coming through the backside. High leg raise with slight hip turn, gets across body at release generating late arm side run on fastball that topped at 80 mph. Gets on top of the ball well and locates to both sides of plate. Shows a nice feel for three pitches including curveball with 11-5 shape and depth at 66 mph and a changeup at 73 mph. Projects well with incorporation of lower half. Accurate throws across from first base, same easy arm action with consistent hands. Right-handed hitter, starts with a closed stance. Middle of the field approach, shows a feel for the barrel with upper half swing. Shows some hand quickness in swing. Very good student.
