Tyler Atkins is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Pineville, LA who attends Pineville HS. Medium frame, slender build, plenty of room to add additional strength. Quick actions on the infield, solid footwork. Moves well laterally to his glove side, good arm strength with carry on throws across. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with an open stance. Short compact swing on a line drive swing plane. Gets extended throughout swing, generates some lift at contact. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with long arm action. Leans backside back before delivery, solid leg drive. Excellent student.
