John "Jack" Wallace is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Winthrop, MA who attends Winthrop. Medium frame with solid, athletic present build; good room to continue filling out frame going forward. Primary pitcher, throws from overtop slot with long and clean arm actions, generates good arm speed, slight crossfire in quick tempo delivery, solid lower half usage, FB worked 84-86 with good arm side life, commanded FB well to both sides and attacked hitters with it. Showed slider at 70 MPH with good tilt and spin; also flashed CH in mid 70's with good deception and quality velocity separation from FB. Hits from narrow stance with small leg lift trigger, doesn't fully shift weight into swing, good hands to and through the zone, very smooth and easy swing mechanics, good strength off the barrel with some jump, will generate more power with better utilization of lower half. Waits back on the ball defensively, fields cleanly and shows solid first step to both sides, solid arm strength topping at 79 MPH across the diamond. Projects best moving forward on the mound.
