Lucas Ismaili is a 2020 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Dunedin, FL who attends East Lake. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. 6.77 runner, has solid footwork on defense, works in back of the ball well and has soft hands out front, second base arm strength and actions. Right handed hitter, hits from an even stance with a deep barred load, loose and easy swing, gets the barrel out front with a clean shift into contact, very loose and fluid swing through the zone, flashed some pull side lift, projects well as a hitter with additional strength. Also pitched, simple mechanics with a short stride out front, deliberate tempo with a low effort release. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight, worked his fastball to both sides of the plate with some intent. Change up was his best off speed pitch, has good dive at the plate and showed confidence in the pitch. Soft curveball. Good student, verbal commitment to Pittsburgh.
