Nate Dillard III is a 2018 3B/MIF with a 5-9 195 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends Bayside High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, moves well on feet and works behind the ball, shows range to backhand, funnels cleanly out front, sound fundamentals, full arm stroke through the back to a mid three-quarters slot but can throw from multiple slots with accuracy. Also pitched, deliberate tempo to delivery, leg lift up to belt with slight hip turn with a full arm action leading to a three-quarters release point. Shows quickness to arm through back, fastball topped out at 75 mph and showed running life to arm side when on top of the ball, also flashed a curveball at 62 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, upper body dominant swing but shows looseness to hands and a full swing path through the zone. Occasionally opens front side early, shows a feel for the barrel and able to create consistent contact, works the pull side of the field with comfort.
