Justin Wager is a 2017 MIF/OF/RHP with a 5-9 152 lb. frame from Orange Park, FL who attends Oakleaf HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders, young look with a lean and projectable build with athleticism throughout. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, sound athletic actions moving to the ball with light actions on feet, shows range to either side, soft hands play well at the ball, lower slot release on throws across with strength and carry. Measured actions in the outfield, compact arm action with a short and quick release, present arm strength to throws. Also pitched and has two-way potential, full and loose arm action with a three-quarters release, ball comes out clean and topped out at 85 mph with short running life. Generates plane to fastball, balanced delivery with a short stride down the mound. Short 11-5 curveball with sweeping life and ability to gets swings-and-misses. Slight fade to changeup, mixed three pitches well and held velocity nicely. Righthanded hitter at the plate, simple approach at the plate and a square stance in the box. Line drive swing plane with solid bat speed, shows flow to mechanics and repeats, hits the ball out front and creates contact to pull and middle of the field. Tools will continue to improve with added strength. Named to Sunshine East Top Prospect List. Very good student.
