Robert Matson is a 2017 OF/MIF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from East Hartland, CT who attends Northwest Catholic. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build and good room to continue adding strength and filling out frame. Ran well, posting a 7.05 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits with high hand set and quick, twitchy load; toe tap trigger with simple approach, line drive swing plane with compact overall swing, gets barrel turned and into zone well, shows good overall contact ability and hand-eye coordination with barrel control, will grow into additional power. Moves to ball well in the OF with good routes and quick feet, fields cleanly and works through the ball well, clean gather and transfer, smooth release with accurate arm, OF velocity topped at 76 MPH. Very good student.
