Brock Vradenburg is a 2020 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Pasadena, CA who attends Maranatha. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a small side step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates some coil over back leg at gather. Works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side. Deep arm stab at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed occasional sink with run to arm side in the low 70's, topped at 74 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with good spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Looked to fill the zone early in counts and effectively changed speeds late with breaking ball. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing developing range with deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a slightly deeper position and works through exchange with developing fluidity. Primarily released from a three-quarters arm slot but flashed the ability to change arm slot while throwing on the run. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Loose path to contact with an uphill plane through extension. Generated good leverage when connecting with baseball out front. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but flashed the ability to turn barrel and work to pull side as well. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Excellent student.
