Steven Nitch is a 2019 C/RHP, OF with a 6-0 163 lb. frame from Woodland Park, NJ who attends Passaic Valley. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulder, high waist, and long limbs, room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary catcher, low set up behind the plate, gains some ground with lower half coming out, receives the ball out front well, quick transfer and release, loose actions, likes to throw in live action and back pick. Also pitched, high leg lift up past belt, does a nice job of getting tall on backside, short stride down the mound but able to generate some plane. Worked exclusively out of stretch, full arm action through the back with some whip to release, loose arm and mostly upper body at release. Short life to fastball, topped out at 81 mph with occasional cut from across body release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and open stance with a high back elbow. Has moving parts to swing but is on time well with leg lift trigger. Shows intent to swing and looks to generate power to pull side, creates carry to pull side gap with lift out front. Comes off well and projects for more moving forward.
