Marcos Del Valle is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-5 238 lb. frame from Buena, NJ who attends St. Augustine Prep. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a clean, compact delivery and smooth paced tempo. Clean, full arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Stays on top of fastball offering well generated steep downhill angle through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Fastball created good run to arm side as well. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth. Maintained arm speed well with a changeup offering that generated good fade to arm side in the mid 70's. Consistently worked to each edge off the plate while effectively changing speeds in all counts. Also worked out defensively from first base showing athletic footwork while moving off the bag and centering the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange well. Showed good arm strength across the infield topping at 84 miles per hour. Switch hitter with a slightly crouched, knee knocking stance from each side of the plate. Created good linear shift into contact with lower half from each side. Employed a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension that produced good carry to each outfield gap. Consistently threw barrel head to contact and generated good jump off the barrel from each side. Very good student as well.
