Luke Lombardi is a 2018 C/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Allendale, NJ who attends Northern Highlands Reg High School. Large, athletic frame with present strength to frame, square shoulders, additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows quick feet behind the plate coming out of crouch and gains ground, low and clean transfer getting ball out of glove, gets on top of throws and shows nice carry and arm strength down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a medium hand set in the box. Utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing, stays short to the ball with swing path and shows a contact approach at the plate. Linear swing plane, uses strength to generate bat speed and works the pull side comfortably. Quick hands, generates occasional lift and extension out front at point of contact, feel for the barrel. Good student.
