Andrew Keck is a 2018 C/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends St John Vianney HS. Large frame with a solid build. Present strength with a projectable body. Right handed hitter with a crouch, straight stance. Rotational mechanics throughout swing and pulls across body on swing at times. Hands stay compact on load and fire to contact with a level, line drive swing path and a pull side approach. Worked out defensively from behind the plate and outfield. Has a flexible low set and wide base behind the plate. Gains ground with on line momentum to second with a clean release and solid arm action. Best pop time of 2.14 at 74mph. Compact arm circle and transition glove to hand. From the outfield shows a shorter arm actoin with a quick release. Smooth glove actions and maintains a good body position while closing on the baseball. Uphill, overtop release topping at 82mph with developing accuracy. Excellent student as well.
