George Mulcahey is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Millennium High School. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build with room to fill with additional strength throughout. Ran a 5.16 40-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes long strides ranging up the middle to ball, fields the ball out front and works to a short and quick arm action, shows strength and carry across, effort at release but projects well physically. Also pitched, small hip turn at top of delivery and lands on line with front foot, similar arm action on the mound with a three-quarters release point, simple mechanics overall. Fastball comes out pretty well with some sinking life, topped out at 83 mph and can work in on hitters to either side. Arm works and flashed a curveball at 65 mph with short life. Righthanded hitter, begins with a leg lift trigger for timing and a slightly open stance. Nice balance to swing with a slight uphill path to the ball, shows quick hands and an ability to use all fields. Sound mechanics and best when creating lien drive contact, shows jump off the barrel when on time and squared, power projects with added strength. Very good student.
