Daniel Flacco is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Ormond Beach, FL who attends Father Lopez HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Shows present strength, but projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.67 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a compact, side step delivery. Gathers well at balance point and stays tall on backside. Carries weight and momentum towards the plate well. Front side lands at a slightly closed position at times, but clears hips well while rotating to finish. Hides the baseball well from a three-quarters slot that generated occasional crossfire action. Fastball is heavy with good life through the zone topping at 81 miles per hour. Showed good command of fastball with the ability to work to each edge of the plate. Curveball had 10/5 shape with good depth and tight rotation at 68 miles per hour. Also flashed a changeup with good fading action and some depth with a deceptive arm speed that matches fastball offering. Located all pitches down in the zone and mixed speeds well effectively keeping hitters off balance. Good mound presence and challenges the strike zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and working through transfer. Releases with an uphill arm action that generated some on line carry to the bag, topped at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Lower half launches with rotational actions while hands works to contact on a compact, direct path. Barrel comes through the hitting zone on a level, line drive plane. Primarily used the middle of the field producing line drive contact between the outfield gaps. When on time, shows the ability to turn the barrel to contact and works to the pull side gap as well. Outstanding student.
