Andrew Vogel is a 2020 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Cottontown, TN who attends White House HS. Taller frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels baseball from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange with fluidity. Released from a lower three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry across the infield at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and hanging from side trigger. Works to contact with some linear lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Flashed present bat speed through the zone with some strength to the gaps. Consistently barreled baseball while working to the middle of the field. Also pitched utilizing a simple, easy delivery. Stays balanced at gather with slight hip turn over back side. Released from a high three-quarters slot and generated good direction to the plate. Fastball flashed slight arm side run with good life in the low to mid 80's, topped at 84 miles per hour. Maintained arm speed with a curveball offering that showed 11/5 shape. Also flashed a changeup offering, displayed developing feel for offering in the mid 70's. Named to the 2018 Fall Academic Showcase, Top Prospect List.
