Jace Hughes is a 2019 OF/ with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Defuniak Springs, FL who attends Walton Senior. Medium and athletic build. Ran a 6.82 second, uses speed to cover a lot of ground in the outfield and it showed up during game play. Primary outfielder, takes short steps to the baseball, could attack the baseball more aggressively but actions play, throws off of back foot some, could work more on following through and releasing out in front, low throws but good arm strength from the outfield topping out at 86 mph, arm projects for more moving forward with minor adjustments mechanically. Righthanded hitter, sets up in a narrow and open stance, high leg lift trigger, swings with plenty of intent, hands show some looseness to them, mostly balanced swing but does get uphill occasionally, best when pulling the baseball with quick hands.
