Jaxson Lucas is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-1 197 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Spain Park HS. Medium and stocky frame with some strength present. Ran an 8.03 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, ets up on the third base side of the rubber, pitches exclusively from the stretch, sits on his back leg at balance point and drives well off of it, takes arm back to a full arm action up to an extended 3/4 arm slot. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with heavy run to armside, mixed in an 11-to-5 curveball with developing spin, good changeup with deception, produced plenty of swing and miss staying around the strike zone and varying speeds nicely. Secondary first baseman, playable hands with some footwork around the bag, quick release to second base with a compact arm stroke, topped out at 76 mph from first base. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a high back elbow and a wrapped barrel, takes a small step into contact, times it well, worked to the opposite field mostly. Good student.
