William Tierney is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Sparta, NJ who attends Pope John XXIII. Recorded a 7.48 second 60-yd dash time. Medium, athletic build with room to fill out. Primary Left-handed pitcher with a low effort delivery and deception from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Utilizes a simple rocker step to balance point, landing slight across his body to create cross-fire deception. Ability to command both sides of the plate, disrupts hitters timing by pitching backwards and tunneling his fastball/slider combination well. Sat upper-70s with occasional cut for entirety of his outing while using sweeping slider to fill up the zone and get ahead of hitters. Secondary outfielder with a developing defensive skill set; Segmented fielding approach with clean exchanges and present arm strength. Aggressive actions with longer arm stroke through release, recorded throws up to 83 mph.Left-handed hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow and short leg lift trigger. Top of the order approach in using short stroke, barrel accuracy and some strength to his pull side. Excellent Student.
