Turner Shultz is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Bishop Kenny. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.09 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions with efficient exchanges while working through transfer. Created solid carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Hands load to a deep position and launch to contact on a loose, extended path. Slightly lifted barrel plane through extension and primarily utilized a mid field to pull side approach. Consistently looked to turn the barrel to contact and create lift. Flashed some jump off the barrel when on time and squared. Also pitched utilizing a simple, smooth paced side step delivery. Stays balanced at gather and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a long three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated solid downward tilt through the zone with running action to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and solid depth. Also flashed a changeup offering that showed some fade to arm side in the low 70's. Keeps mechanics simple and consistently repeated arm slot. Consistently worked in the strike zone and challenged hitters. Excellent student.
