Jacob Burwell is a 2017 OF/2B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Klein, TX who attends Klein HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes long strides moves towards the ball and does a nice job of circling the ball and working behind it, uses a crow hop to gain momentum, fields ball to side of body, occasionally gets under ball but shows accuracy when on top from a short and compact arm action, clean transfer out of glove. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open base and a high hand set in the box with some movement to hands pre-pitch. Upper body dominant swing, stays short to the ball with a linear swing plane. Short and quick trigger at start of swing, contact approach in the box, creates contact to the pull side when on time with the barrel through zone. Very good student.
