2023 National Showcase
Ryan Ashford is a 2024 LHP/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Lake Mary, FL who attends Lake Mary. Strong build, especially in his lower half. Works from a rotational delivery with a mid to low 3/4's arm slot, compact arm action that hides the ball well and creates deception, some energy at release and will occasionally recoil. Fastball topped out at 90 mph with huge running life at times, so much movement that it's hard to command at times. Big sweeping slider moves the other direction with better command than the fastball. Turned over a change well to right handed hitters. Stays down in the zone consistently and should develop the ability to pitch backwards when he wants to. Won't be a comfortable at bat as he develops. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Miami.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
