Mahki Backstrom is a 2019 1B/OF with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Junipero Serra HS. Big well proportioned athletic build, very strong. Left handed hitter, gets coiled in his approach and really whips the barrel around, outstanding raw bat speed and impact strength, power to all fields with huge pull side carry, even drove the ball hard in a game when he broke the bat, handled the barrel well in games and doesn't sell out for his power. 6.90 runner, is an agile fielder at first base with soft hands and good footwork around the bag. Good student. Selected for the 2018 Perfect Game All American Classic.
