2003 Western Underclass Showcase
Anderson is a live bodied catcher with good speed on the field (7.16 in the 60) and very good quickness behind the plate. He shifts well in both directions and had one of the better glove to hand transfers that we saw in Peoria. Anderson’s arm strength is below MLB average but his quickness enabled him to record pop times in the workouts down to 1.97. He also threw very accurately in game situations. Anderson is a left handed hitter with a short, quick swing that will play well at the next level. He showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields depending on the type and location of the pitch. It wouldn’t surprise us if Anderson developed some power down the road given his bat speed and his ability to center the ball consistently.
