Matthew Retamoza is a 2022 MIF/RHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Ocala, FL who attends Trinity Catholic. Medium frame with some strength present and more room to fill with time to do so. 7.68 second 60 yard dash. Primary middle infielder, athletic and smooth actions to the baseball, clean hands with some softness, arm plays well across the infield with some strength and online carry to throws, topped out at 78 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts windup with a short side step up to a leg lift slightly above his belt line, loose arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, gets solid drive from his back leg driving down the mound, stays online down the mound as well, gets out over front foot well, topped out at 80 mph on the mound. Righthanded hitter, even and balanced stance, coils at load with a leg lift trigger, uncoils into contact with good use of his hips generating torque into the swing, gets the bat head out in front, hands hitch at load but it plays, generates good bat speed and shows a nice feel for the barrel.
