Ellington Hodge is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF with a 6-1 172 lb. frame from Avondale Estates, GA who attends Decatur. A medium frame with athleticism & strength showing throughout the frame. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. A primary shortstop who had athletic actions with good range showing during his reps in the defensive workout. Had soft hands with a good arm across the diamond. Quick hands to funnel into his throws which came out at 85 mph. A right-handed hitter with a very wide base & crouched start that has high-set hands. Minimal stride with good barrel control. He had easy bat speed with a pretty compact look. Had lots of hard-hit line drives to the middle of the field. He rotated well through contact, getting extended, and getting some thump off the barrel. Solid round of BP from top to bottom. Produced an 84 mph exit velocity to PG Tech testing. Took to the mound as a right-handed hitter with a side step into a leg lift to the belt. Pitches from a high-three-quarters arm slot/almost over the top with a speedy arm stroke. Had a quick arm with serious arm strength showing. His fastball was 81-84 T86 mph with 2,112 RPMs. Also showed a 12-6 shaped breaking ball that was in the low-70s with a short break. Showed a changeup in the mix, killing spin down to 1,611 RPMs as well. Had 4 punchouts over 1 2/3 innings while allowing just 1 hit. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
