Alex Larson is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Syosset, NY who attends Syosset. Medium athletic build with good present strength. High leg swing delivery with a long side step to start his mechanics, uses his lower half well to drive down the mound to the plate, long arm action i n back coming to a 3/4's arm slot, tends to fall off to the first base side on release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, gets cutting action frequently due to his mechanics, clean arm action will lead to increased velocity in the future. Tends to get around his curveball early, flashes good spin when he's directional and out front with it. Also mixed in a developing change up. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a good weight shift, wraps his barrel in his load and has the strength to create some barrel whip, busy hands in his load, flashes pull side power when he's on time, has some projection as a hitter. 7.35 runner in the sixty, plays the outfield when not on the mound. Elite level student.
