Tyler Loebel is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Nashotah, WI who attends Arrowhead. Athletic frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Primary right handed pitcher with simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Tends to land at a slightly closed position on front side. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly and generating occasional downhill plane in the upper 70's, topped at 79 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with loose spin and occasional depth to the bottom of the zone in the upper 60's. Consistently looked to challenge hitters to the bottom of the zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels baseball of to side and worked through exchange with loose actions. Released from a three-quarters slot generating uphill carry to the bag at 81 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed occasional bat speed through the zone with some jump off the barrel to gaps when squared. Primarily looked to work the ball on a line to the middle of the field. Good student as well.
