2021 California Workout Camp Session 2
Kien Vu is a 2022 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Point Loma. He ran a 7.13 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a medium athletic build. In the outfield he moves smoothly to the ball and through the fielding process as he receives the ball out front with good glove work, he showed a game like gather with a long full am action creating plenty of whip tot he release and carry on the ball flight. On the mound he displayed a big leg lift above the belt and uses the lower half well coming down the mound, his fastball sat 81-83 mph with plenty of arm side run from a three-quarters slot with easy arm speed, his curveball showed good depth with 11-5 shape and the ability to land it to either side, the slider has good horizontal movement making for a quality three pitch mix that project well moving forward. Left-handed hitter, starts with an open stance and lower hand position, he showed good feel for the barrel and the ability to create lift to the pull side as he displayed quick hands and good rhythm to the swing, he has the ability to use thew whole field with his good hands but does the most damage with the barrel head out front to right field. Very good student. Named to the 2021 California Workout Camp Session 2 Top Prospect List.
