Ben Hixon is a 2022 1B/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Yorkville, IL who attends Yorkville. Medium frame with slender, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.78 seconds. Hits from open stance with narrow base, high hand set with high back elbow, wraps into load, line drive plane with high finish, good extension, shows ability to generate backspin, projects well for power. Worked out at 1st base, hands work well with deeper funnel, solid footwork around and off the bag, turns well, clocked up to 67 mph on throws. Also pitched, worked exclusively from the stretch, stabs through back of arm stroke, misdirected front side through drive at times, fastball worked 67-72 mph with flashes of gradual sink. Showed curveball at 61 mph with depth, also mixed in a sharper, shorter slider. Very good student.
