Zach Lester is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF, OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Valrico, FL who attends Strawberry Crest. Medium frame with long limbs and plenty of projection remaining. Ran a 7.40 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with clean hands and a good funnel, athletic actions with good body control, attacks the baseball and showed plenty of mobility and range, average arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, high leg lift delivery, takes his arm back to a long and loose arm action, has good arm speed and releases from a 3/4 arm slot, fastball has some jump out of hand up to 80, has an advanced feel for a changeup that shows late diving action and allows the fastball to play up. Also worked out in the outfield with a shuffling and low effort release with similar arm strength as in the infield. Right-handed hitter, sets up at the plate with a slightly open stance and high hand set, has a long swing path and meets the ball out in front, downhill swing with a high finish, flashed good pop to the pull side, has present hand strength and projects well with added strength. Outstanding student.
