Christian Smith is a 2022 OF/3B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Great Oak. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Moves well, posted a 6.74 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well on feet with sound defensive actions, short steps to the ball, fields it out front, quick release from a shorter arm action, arm strength will continue to develop with additional lower half implemented into release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a medium hand set in the box. Keeps hands tight at start and through launch, generates solid bat speed through the zone and creates real juice off of the barrel. Quickness to hands, best power to pull side with leverage when getting extended out front. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to San Diego State.
