Jacob Horwitz is a 2026 LHP/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Lower Merion, PA who attends The Haverford School. Compact, athletic frame with some lean muscle throughout and plenty of time to physically mature. Recorded a 7.32 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Deceptive delivery with higher leg lift into balance, a high front lever and a cross-body release. Fastball worked in the 77-81 mph range for the majority of his outing and topped out at 83 mph from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Showed developing command of the strike zone that will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments. Mixed in two variations of his breaking ball with both showing promise and bat missing traits at times. The firmer slider version had late bite and true swing-and-miss abilities when thrown with conviction. Secondary outfielder with a developing defensive skill set. Comes and gets the baseball with aggressive footwork, fields off the side and carries some momentum into release. Recorded arm strength up to 83 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with tight hand set, a tucked back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to generate a loose, lofted stroke with developing bat-to-ball skills. Whole field approach with best impact to the middle and opposite field when on-time and in-sync. Will continue to improve at the plate with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Developing, young prospect with intriguing upside on the mound as he continues to add more velocity and refine things mechanically. Named to the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
