Ryan Edwards is a 2026 SS with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Shelbyville, TN who attends Shelbyville Central. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.93 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, shows present actions and repeats well, comes through the backhand and shows a quick transfer, long strides with some range up the middle, arm strength on throws will continue to develop. Also pitched, showed rhythm to delivery, hip coil at top with a short leg lift, works across body with a closed strike foot, high three-quarters release; fastball topped out at 68 mph, worked around the zone out of the stretch and mixed a curveball with 12-6 shape and some depth up to 60 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread, slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; weight starts on back side and can continue to incorporate lower half shift into contact moving forward. Longer swing path through the zone, shows back spin off of the barrel when on time, best when working on a linear path, will get downward at times, full finish through point of contact.
