Ryan Newell is a 2027 OF/1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Nolensville, TN who attends Nolensville. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Left handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a high hand load, has a simple and repeatable load and shift into contact, lifting swing plane that gets the ball in the air when squared up and creates top spin when not, solid present bat speed. 7.12 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, is aggressive to the ball and fields it cleanly off his front foot, throws from a lower 3/4's slinging arm slot but has some carry on his throws, can shorten his footwork into release. Good student. Named to the PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
