2022 Central Prospect Showcase
Boston Bruce is a 2024 C/MIF with a 5-8 166 lb. frame from Atchison, KS who attends Atchison High. Medium frame with athleticism. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a square setup. Receives the ball well with soft hands, gaining ground well as he moves through the throw. Clean transition with a quick release, producing accurate and on-line throws. Posted a 1.94 POP time in the workout. In-game catching was also solid, he showed off good catch-and-throw on throws. Also handled pitchers well with smooth and fluid receiving. Also worked out as an infielder, showing off a good first step and good feel for the backhand with arm strength across. He was aggressive to the ball, moving well laterally with clean hands, staying in control of his movements for 79 mph throws across the diamond. He's a right-handed hitter with a square base and sightly-open feet. He uses a higher hand set to start and gets the hands to the ball with a direct path. Stays level through the zone and stays connected as he rotates through the swing. Showed some feel for the barrel during his round of BP. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
