Ray Hutchins is a 2025 RHP/SS with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Kernersville, NC who attends East Forsyth. Very athletic and lean current build with a lot of time to add physicality. Primary position RHP, working from the stretch and on 1B side of rubber. Sets hands just above belt and tight to body leading to very deep, full arm path into 3/4 arm angle. Gets down the slope deliberately and gets good core rotation at foot strike. FB with cutting action at times ran up to 76 mph with solid spin in the 2,100+ range. CB displayed elite spin consistently in the 2,600+ rpm range with two-plane shape in the upper-60's velocity wise. Still young on the mound but with a velocity jump on FB he will be one to watch with his ability to spin the ball. Reps on the IF as well, moving around pretty well showing quality feel for the glove and throws across the diamond up to 74 mph. RHH using an open and upright stance to go with a high handset and an inwardly turned torso. High hanging leg lift gets him moving with good energy but did show some timing concerns. Rotational hitting approach for the most part but good on line contact when in the middle of the field. Elite performer in the classroom.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
