Kenneth Taveras is a 2022 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from N.Woodmere, NY who attends Kellenberg Memorial. Recorded a 5.30 second forty-yard dash time. Tall, athletic looking frame with long levers and room to fill out. Primary middle-infielder with athletic actions throughout the fielding process, good lateral range to either side and present arm strength. Uses long strides to range laterally, fields out in front with good usage of his lower half, working uphill to throw from an over-the-top arm slot. Fundamentally sound footwork, flashing some athleticism to change directions well. Displayed online, accurate throws up to 85 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with deliberate pace, drop and drive lower half mechanics and some extension out in front. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 80 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Creates some deception and natural arm-side run due to shortness of his arm stroke, filling up the zone effectively with a fastball that occasionally cuts. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and introduction of a secondary offering. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, even stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and small leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower mechanics to create torque, while working downhill with his swing plane to impact the baseball. Middle-of-the field approach with some quickness to his hands, consistent bat-to-ball skills and feel for the barrel. Contact oriented stroke with simple, repeatable movement patterns that translate well into game. Will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically and additional strength. Good Student.
