Gaines Estridge is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Colleyville, TX who attends Covenant Christian Academy. Medium frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 9.00 seconds. Primary pitcher, high leg lift with online delivery, compact arm stroke to high three quarters slot, easy effort, fastball worked 73-75 mph with good plane to the plate, showed curveball with sweeping shape and good depth, good feel to spin the ball, did a good job throwing strikes. Uses lower half well in swing, gets barrel out front at times, balanced stride and shift, showed ability to use the whole field. Worked out at first base, comes in on the ball well, fields cleanly and shows good ability to make pivot throws, clocked up to 66 mph. Good student.
