LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 Jr. National Showcase
Joshua Viars is a 2026 SS/RHP/C with a 5-11 182 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Walnut Grove High School. Compact athletic build with good present strength. 7.04 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense but graded out significantly higher as a catcher at this event. Athleticism really shows behind the plate, has natural and fluid actions receiving and throwing, light on his feet in his shifting, lots of arm strength with accurate carry. Has clean actions with easy transfers and some arm strength in the infield and mostly likely a second base profile. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight spread stance, has an uphill swing, swings hard and creates bat speed, best when he's getting extended and driving the ball to the right center field gap, hard game contacts, power projects well. Will be interesting to see how and where he develops defensively. Brother, Jordan, is a power hitting outfielder in the Phillies organization.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
