2021 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase
Carson Knebel is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-5 178 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley. Tall and slender frame with plenty of room to fill, lots of length to the build. Primary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch. Long arm circle in the back, creates a downhill place and comes from an over the top slot. Really sinks into the back hip and lands in line with the plate, tends to fall off towards the first base side, will improve as he stays more directional with the upper half. Shows some late life to the fastball on both sides of the plate. Throws a curveball with 12/6 shape that jumps out of the had. Flashed a changeup that he tunnels well, nice pitch that fades as it crosses the plate, he should use it more as it could be an effective pitch. Showed swing and miss potential in his outing. Projects well with added strength/mass. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base and long stride. Loads the hands deep, long swing path, cuts off the swing at times. Looks to use the opposite field, barrel tends to be late. Tall finish, upwards swing path that looks to elevate. Great student.
