2024 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Trevor Reim is a 2026 C/RHP/UT with a 5-9 183 lb. frame from Bardonia, NY who attends Clarkstown South Senior. Larger, sturdy frame with well-proportioned strength present. Primary catcher, sets up in a bent-knee stance and works into a slightly offline transfer. Gains a bit of ground as he separates into a shorter arm stroke. Releases the baseball from a lower slot. Has some present hand speed. Delivered accurate throws to the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 65 mph with a pop time of 2.14 sec. Secondary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a slower-paced full wind-up delivery from the first base side of the rubber. Breaks the hands at the face and into an inline arm path before releasing the ball from a three-quarters slot. Fastball was pretty straight and commanded effectively throughout all four quadrants; topped it out at 71 mph. Mixed in a knuckleball that killed tons of spin and showed 12-6 movement. Sequenced in a more traditional curveball with good depth; played off of the knuckleball well. Also flashed a cutter that showed late movement along the horizontal axis with natural depth. Pitched to contact with his mix. Right-handed hitter, starts in a crouched, slightly open stance with a compact & high hand set-up. Utilizes a quick toe-tap trigger for timing before working into a slightly uphill bat path. Has good strength in the hands with some feel for the barrel. Produced well-struck liners to the middle of the field when timed up. Gets a bit rotational at times. Offers intriguing power potential. Posted an exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 4.33 thirty-yard dash. Excellent student.
