2006 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Mark Montgomery is a 2008 SS/RHP from Bruton HS in Williamsburg, VA with a 5'10", 165 lb. frame. Mark has a small body right now but really knows what he is doing when he steps in the batter's box. At the plate he has very quick hands and drives the ball hard to all fields. He has a line-drive swing plane and is able to hit the ball out front. Once he gets a little stronger Mark has alot of potential at the plate. In the field Mark showed some raw infield tools. With his current arm strength second base or third base look to be his best position at this point. Right now Mark's offense is a step ahead of his defense. Mark has a good understanding of how to play the game and when he fills out some could be a solid college prospect.
