Landen Baker is a 2023 1B/RHP/C with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Nashville, NC who attends Southern Nash. Large frame with strength in his hips and shoulders. Primary first baseman on defense, has been a primary catcher in the past and is learning footwork at his new position. Moves well for his size, 7.34 in the sixty at the PG Junior National Showcase. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a busy hand load, gets out to his front side and is looking to pull and drive the ball, will get early with his front side at times, can impact the ball when he's on time and balanced. Also pitched, has good tempo to his delivery and repeats his mechanics well, compact arm stroke. Mid-80's fastball topped out at 86 mph, also throws a hard 11/5 breaking ball and a change up. Threw strikes with all his pitches and challenged hitters. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
