Brody Roderick is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-0 163 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Catholic. Slender, long, lean build with tons of physical projection remaining. 7.86-second runner during the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively out of the stretch with a simple drop and drive lower half. Tapped into his backside well to get down the mound. Comes from an over-the-top arm slot from a full arm swing, on occasion his arm action would get elongated, causing his arm to lag behind his body, missing high. When he got on top of his fastball it showcased life through the zone with riding action. Sat 79-82 mph grabbing several 83's in his first inning of work. Some deception to him with his long levers and arm slot. Threw two breaking balls, slider displayed some tilt to it, varying his arm slot slightly. Curveball flashed 12-6 shape when he stayed on top of it. No doubt there is life in the arm and he projects long-term on the mound, needs to refine mechanics and develops better overall feel for secondary offerings. Secondary first baseman, moves well around the bag with deliberate actions. Present arm strength, up to 82 mph on his throws to the bases. Also worked out in the outfield, once again showing off the arm strength up to 84 mph on his throws to the bases. Fielded off his front foot, utilizing some extra steps to work through the ball. On line throws with carry to target. Right-handed hitter, sets up with an even, balanced stance. Utilizes a leg-lift-trigger to engage lower half. Uphill swing plane, producing occasional lift through the zone. Flashed some looseness in his swing that will translate better as he develops better feel for the barrel. Excellent student. Named to Sunshine Atlantic Coast Top Prospect List.
