Nolan Slaymaker is a 2028 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Fort White, FL who attends Columbia. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned well throughout. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, plays low on the approach, fields it out front with two hands, smoothness to footwork on the turn, plays with some bounce, big arm strength from a shorter arm action on throws, big target for infielders to throw to. Arm strength plays on the left side as well, carry across with some accuracy, can implement additional footwork moving through the ball, clean slow roller play. Also pitched, looseness to arm coming through the backside, easy life out of the hand and up to 85 mph in this look. Comfort working to the glove side, utilizes lower half/drive leg well down the mound. Tends to slow arm on release of curveball, up to 68 mph with bigger 11-5 shape, also flashed a shorter slider up to 74 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow at the plate. Swings with big intent and looks to impact with each stroke; lots of physical strength plays well in swing and able to generate leverage through the point of contact. Occasionally gets to front early with weight shift but can comfortably impact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Excellent student.
