2021 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Sawyer Wilson is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Cartersville, GA who attends Cartersville. He ran a 7.34 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a medium frame. On the mound he showed a shorter over the top arm action with good rhythm to the delivery. The fastball comes out of the hand clean at 74-78 mph topping out at 81 mph with some projectable arm speed. He also showed a curveball as the primary off speed in the upper 60's with average depth through the hitting zone. In the outfield he receives the ball with two hands on the body working into a longer gather with an uphill release showing average carry to the bases. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base shifting his weight into contact with an uphill bat path using the middle of the field to the pull side with developing bat speed and barrel control. Excellent student.
