2025 PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO
Hayes Leach is a 2029 OF/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Oxford, MS who attends Regents School of Oxford. Primary OF with a slender young athletic build with lots of growing ahead of him. Good strength in the frame as well. Fields out front and gets it out with some pace showing a quick arm with shorter arm action. Moves really well to the ball and takes quality angles. Will just need to maintain more momentum and getting the ball out in one motion. Accurate with throws and showed good developing arm strength as well. Also ran a 6.51 in the sixty. Also pitched working up to 75 with his fastball. Drop and drive mechanics with medium sized arm action throwing from standard 3/4 slot. Fastball showed good heavy life through the zone and was located well. Change flashed with some depth and kills spin. Went to a curve with true 12-6 shape and release gets slowed when going to it at times. Right-handed hitter with an even base. Uses a short stride out into contact for timing and rhythm. Uses the opposite field well from a flatter swing path that stays level through the zone. Will need to be more consistent with his timing from a downhill swing path. Good approach in general though.
