2025 PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO
Murphy Wood is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Signal Mountain, TN who attends Signal Mountain. Recorded a 7.83 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher with a lean frame that projects significantly. Delivery is up tempo and utilizes a short arm action through the back. Fastball topped at 79 mph and ball comes out of the hand clean. Heater plays up and garnered lots of swing-and-miss on the heater throughout the outing. Mixed in a curveball that featured bite to it, playing well off the fastball. Secondary first baseman and looked comfortable and athletic with good fundamentals around the bag. Also worked out in the outfield, showing an accurate arm with carry to the throws. Left-handed hitter and starts from a wide base in the box. Uses a hanging stride to initiate the swing and impacted the ball well with a pull side approach. Has quickness to the hands and stays connected well. Stayed on the barrel throughout the round and showed real handle for the barrel. Good student. Named to the PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO Top Prospect List.
